Outdoor Dominoes

With fixed rules, dice games, card games, and board games are clearly defined activities and present a welcome break from negotiation with others. Many children find it a real relief to immerse themselves in a game with clear rules as a contrast to wild and free play with their mates at kindergarten or school.

In addition, playing a game gives your child an opportunity to practise other important skills, such as losing. We suggest that you don't always let your child win when you play a game. Teach your child to cope with losing a game in a safe environment together with you. This helps make children robust and resilient, which will benefit them later in life when they have to handle things on their own and you cannot shield them from defeat and disappointment.
