Play Food - Canned Tomatoes

Every little chef needs a can of tomatoes – perfect for tomato soup, pasta or pizza sauce and other tasty dishes. How many tomato-filled dishes can you think of together?

 

The activity helps your child develop skills and is great for your child's well-being:

• Gives your child all kinds of opportunities to unleash their imagination.
• In role play, your child recreates everyday situations through play, imitates us adults, and creates their own universe.
• Encourages your child to practise social skills, for example being able to wait their turn, lose, trade toys, or listen, being patient and tolerant, and making an effort to read the situation.

Toy food is fantastic for role playing, which inspires your child to copy real-life experiences such as cooking, shopping, or going to a café. Talk about where food comes from, when we typically eat it, and where it goes after we swallow it. This expands your child’s knowledge and vocabulary.

Role playing gives children the opportunity to copy everyday activities, which strengthens their understanding of the world they live in. You can also expand your child's play opportunities by playing grocery store, maybe with little homemade special offer signs. That way, you can explore both words and numbers, and your child can gain confidence in calculating prices, giving back change, or greeting customers politely.

MaMaMeMo is from Denmark and was one of the first toy companies to (among other things) create play food which looks like local food. The toys are high quality, and the range is wide and includes ice cream stands, play kitchens, play tents, and much more.

MaMaMeMo was founded by the Danish couple Anne-Marie and Poul. The company name is made up from the initials of their four children, Marie, Mads, Mette, and Morten. It is those four kids' play with MaMaMeMo ice cream stands and wooden play food, mixers, bakery counters, and more which has motivated the parents Anne-Marie and Poul to start a production of these fantastic playthings for happy children worldwide.
