Play Food - Dinner Basket

Time to go shopping for dinner! When your child is done working their magic in the play kitchen, maybe they'll pack a picnic basket so you can have a cosy picnic dinner on the living room floor. 

Includes a steak, grilled chicken breast, a baked potato, an empty salad bowl, a pineapple ring, a broccoli floret, a glass of milk, 3 lettuce leaves, 2 tomato slices, 2 cucumber slices, and an ice cream sandwich for dessert (or as an appetizer, if you're having dinner in opposite land).

Here, important skills are stimulated, which are wonderful for your child's well-being and ability to learn new things:

Have conversations about what happens to food inside the body, where our food comes from, and when we usually eat it. This develops your child’s knowledge and vocabulary. Play food is great for role play, which inspires your child to act out real-life situations such as shopping, cooking, or visiting a café.

Through role playing, your child can experiment with rules, boundaries, and opportunities for identity formation and social interaction. When the children play together with play food, they learn how to take turns, communicate and work together to reach compromises. You can also use the play food to play grocery store and practise making special offers, writing signs, and politely greeting customers. Your child can practise taking payments and giving back change, which improves their math skills.
