Talk about where food comes from, when we typically eat it, and where it goes after we swallow it. This helps to develop your child’s vocabulary and knowledge. Play food is ideal for role playing, which inspires your child to copy real-life scenarios such as cooking, shopping, or being in a café.
Role play where children act out real-life activities expands their understanding of the world they live in. With play food, your child can also play with food in a way that is probably not tolerated at mealtime with real food. You can also use the play food to play grocery store and practise writing little signs, coming up with prices and special offers, and practising polite phrases.
