This activity develops essential skills which help support your child's well-being and ability to learn new things:
- This type of play helps your child develop their depth perception skills. Among other things, this will help your child cycle or walk in traffic safely. "How fast are others coming towards me?" suddenly becomes easier to estimate.
- Stimulates hand-eye coordination, a skill we use for example when cutting accurately with scissors, pouring water into a glass without spilling, or when catching or kicking the ball that comes flying at us in PE class.
- Develops your child's proprioception, which benefits their concentration and gives them the confidence to use their body in other types of active play.
