River Path Nordic
- This is a way for your child to engage their vestibular sense, which helps us to stand on one leg, spin in circles, or ride in a car without losing our balance, feeling dizzy, or getting car sick.
- Develops your child's proprioception, which benefits your child's concentration and gives them the confidence to use their body in other types of physical play.

Chomp chomp. Watch out. A dangerous crocodile is lurking in the water, so be careful you don't fall off the river path.
Build one long path or several shorter ones that your child can jump between. Or put the pieces together in a circle and use them as a balance beam or an arena for a playful wrestling match.
You can definitely add other elements to your balance play as well. For example, you can combine the river path with other balance toys from our collection. Or grab some pillows or cushions and use them as obstacles your child must not touch, or as spots to take a little break along the balance path.
The river path has pleasant muted colours, so the balance track from the sofa to the armchair won't be too big of an eyesore if it isn’t tidied up right away.
You can easily combine multiple sets to create extra long paths to the bathroom or out in the yard.
The river path is especially suitable for childcare settings, for children with special needs, or for adults and seniors who need extra balance training.
The activity supports skill development and is great for your child's well-being:
- Strengthens and develops your child's concentration.
- Supports your child's vestibular sense, which strengthens learning ability, balance, and concentration.
- This is a way for your child to improve their proprioception, which benefits your child's concentration and gives them the confidence to use their body in other types of physical play.
Suitable for children aged 2 yrs. to 8 yrs.
At Toy Academy, we've always worked to help children use both their body and their brain as much as possible. Allowing your child to roll, crawl, tumble, jump, rock, and play all over your furniture gives them lots of extra physical activity in their daily life. And more physical activity is a good thing, because your child's proprioception can never be overstimulated.
Motor skills furniture bought at Toy Academy is durable and can withstand years of use.
