What makes this product special
Suitable for ages 5 yrs. to 11 yrs.
When your child plays with a ball using their feet, hands, head, or a racket/bat, their depth perception is strengthened. Besides, ball games may have rules, and it's beneficial for your child to learn how to follow and negotiate them. So, when your child stubbornly claims that there's certainly NO penalty kick, or that the ball was NOT out of bounds, don't worry - that's a learning moment. Playing with balls also boosts your child's proprioception - and that's a sense which cannot be overstimulated.
The activity supports skill development and is wonderful for your child's well-being:
- This type of play develops gross motor skills. It especially involves your child's ability to control the coordination of their arms and legs.
- Benefits hand-eye coordination, a skill we use for instance when kicking or catching a ball that comes flying at us in PE class, or when cutting an accurate line with scissors.
- Inspires your child to practise social skills, such as being able to wait their turn, lose, trade toys, or listen, being tolerant and patient, and trying to read the situation.
