Sandbox - Flexy-Style

Finally, a sandbox with a size and shape that fits in narrow spaces. The Flexy Style sandbox consists of two separate boxes that can be combined in flexible ways.

For example, the two elements can be placed side by side, behind each other, or at an angle to fit around a corner. 

One box features two hotplates and a sink for water or mud play at one end, and a two-row abacus at the other.

The other box has a storage compartment with a removable lid. The compartment is perfect for storing sand toys and also doubles as a seat when the lid is closed.

Comes with a fleece cover for the bottom of the sandbox.

To protect both the wood and the sand, we recommend buying a cover for the sandbox. You'll find a cover in our webshop under sandbox accessories.

MUDDY BUDDY® outdoor play equipment is made from solid cypress wood, which has been treated for durability. To keep your MUDDY BUDDY® product in good shape and help it last as long as possible, we recommend that you treat the wood at least once a year with a water-based wood protector, check the screws annually, and store the product in a dry indoor place during winter. You may notice knots, colour variations, or little imperfections in the solid wood - that’s simply part of its natural charm. It takes between 30 minutes and an hour to assemble the sandbox, and you will need a screwdriver.

This toy doesn't have any rulebook or right or wrong ways to play, and your child can simply play without thinking about how to use it. The goal is simply to play and be in the present moment. At Toy Academy, we call this type of play intuitive play - its also referred to as "open ended play". We suggest that you seize the chance to observe what happens when your child plays in ways that let them follow their intuition.

As opposed to types of play which focus on achieving a result or playing within specific boundaries, intuitive play will most often let you have interesting insight into your child’s own imagination, problem-solving skills, and thought process.

For most kids, the beach or the sandbox is a favourite playground. The sand can be made into scrumptious cakes, quirky sand castles, or tracks so toy cars and trucks can get to work in the sand.
