What makes this product special
Pulling, squishing, squeezing, and stretching with your hands magically boosts your child’s concentration, even though it is in fact a form of distraction. For example, when your child needs to sit and pay attention to a fairy tale, it’s wonderful to knead and fiddle with various types of sensory slime, clay, or playdough while listening.
Your older child can make anything from cats with four heads to queens, kings, princes, and princesses and bring their funniest ideas to life. For the littlest ones, playdough is mainly about the sensory experience.
We carry playdough of several different colours and types and different firmness levels. Firm playdough stimulates your child’s proprioception by providing a bit more resistance. Among other things, firm playdough is very suitable for making stop motion movies, because it holds its shape better.
It’s a calm activity that can help your child sit still for just 7 more minutes - or help them deal with long train or car rides without wiggling around in their seat. Especially, for children with a lot of motor restlessness, playing with something that activates proprioception, hands, fine motor skills, and imagination while sitting still can create a sense of calm.
Playdough can be either water-based or oil-based, and each type has its own advantages. You can soften water-based playdough by adding in a bit of water. But oil-based playdough remains soft for years.
Naturally, all the different types of playdough, sensory slime, and modelling clay you'll find at ToyAcademy are CE-marked and approved in accordance with current toy safety regulations - just like all our other toys.
