This product is made of PVC. PVC is a unique plastic material because it is stretchable, UV-resistant, highly durable, and a valuable resource. You can make PVC last longer by drying it off well before you pack it away for the season, and sprinkling it with a bit of talcum powder so it doesn’t stick together and tear. When you extend the life of PVC products, you're doing both the environment and your children a favour.
If an accident happens and the PVC gets a hole or a tear, you can patch it up with repair patches or tape, which you can buy at most outdoor and/or hardware stores. When PVC items have reached the end of their life, they should be taken to the recycling depot. Do not dispose of PVC with other plastic waste. If you like to sew and craft, you can upcycle PVC into wet bags for swimwear or cloth diapers, among other things - or maybe even rainwear for dolls and stuffed animals.
