People all over the world tell stories. And across different cultures, we actually tell stories with the same themes. Being able to understand and tell a story with a beginning and an end is a very important skill to have. This skill can be improved by repeating the storytelling game over and over and adding your own touch to the story.
Props can bring storytelling to life. In this way, the reader telling the story is not hidden away behind a book but gets to be active and in close contact with the little listeners, who get to join in the story instead of being passive.
Great for story telling at home with your child and in daycare – or for people with dementia or special needs.
This activity develops essential skills which support your child's well-being and ability to learn:
- Great for role play, where children practise finding their own place in the game and taking turns to lead. This develops your child's social skills.
