Maileg was founded in 1999 by Dorthe og Erik Mailil, who set out to make durable toys with lots of soul and personality as a counterbalance plastic toys and fast trends. The name Maileg is made up of the founders' surname and the Danish word for play. Based in Herning, Denmark, Maileg makes Christmas elves, dollhouses, and toys full of Nordic simplicity and ""hygge"".Maileg's elves, mice, and figures are made with slow, calm play in mind. It's all about building worlds and immersing yourself in stories with toys whose appearance and quality will last through years of play. Your child gets to form a heartfelt and close bond with their toys and the adorable little mice and elves.
Maileg is all about high quality in the details, materials and expressions of their toys. Their designs speak to both young and old playful souls.
