Maileg was founded in 1999 by Erik og Dorthe Mailil, who set out to make durable toys with lots of soul and personality as a counterbalance plastic toys and throw-away culture. The name Maileg is made up of the founders' surname and the Danish word for play. Based in Herning, Denmark, Maileg creates toy figures and accessories that radiate ""hygge"" and Scandinavian design.Maileg's elves, mice, and figures are made with calm, immersive play in mind. It's all about creating worlds and immersing yourself in stories with toys whose appearance and quality will last for many years.
