With clear and defined rules, dice games, card games, and board games are clear and defined activities without major negotiation with others. For many children, it can be a nice relief to delve into a game with clear rules as a break from wild and free play with their friends at school or kindergarten.
Moreover, playing games gives your child an opportunity to experience (and cope with) losing. We recommend not letting your child win the game every single time. Learning how to handle the disappointment of losing in a safe setting together with you builds resilience in your child. After all, you won't be able to shield your child from disappointment and defeat later in life when they go out on their own.
