Talk about where our food comes from and what happens to it inside the body. This is great for your child’s vocabulary and knowledge. Toy food is fantastic for imaginative play, which inspires your child to act out real-life scenarios such as shopping, cooking, or being in a café.
Pretend play allows children imitate real-life activities, which builds up their understanding of the world they live in. You can also expand your child's play opportunities by playing grocery store, maybe with little homemade signs with prices. That way, you can practise both numbers and words, and your child can build up their confidence practising polite phrases and adding up small sums.
