Painting, drawing, and writing strengthen your child's pencil grasp and fine motor skills, which are both essential skills for learning to write letters and numbers legibly.
Drawing for fun simply helps your child gain better control of the pencil, which is very helpful for schoolwork. And it's so lovely to get a little handwritten letter from your child that says "lof yoo" - and equally surprising and amusing to see the first homemade sign stuck to the door of your child’s room that says "no parints aloud". Later on, it’s time for more complicated writing projects such as handwritten Christmas and birthday cards – both made possible by a secure grasp and a trained writing hand.
