Wooden Bead Loom
Bead looming is such a wonderfully cosy little craft, and you can make lovely decorations and accessories. With small seed beads, you can weave the most beautiful bands - perfect as bracelets, hat bands, headbands, etc.Â
Make up your own patterns or find inspiration online.
The bead loom is made of wood. It is 11.5 cm wide and 26 cm long. The weaving width is 9.5 cm.
How to use a bead loom:
- Tie your jewelry thread/warp thread (not included) around the flat piece of wood and attach it to end of the loom. Repeat with as many threads as you want to use for your desired weaving width (for the purpose of this example, six threads).
- Tie the six threads around the two removable pegs at the other end of the loom.
- Thread a jewelry needle with about 1.5 m of thread. Tie the end of this thread around the left peg.
- Use beads with a diameter of at least 3-4 mm.
- Thread a bead onto your needle and guide it under the six warp threads.
- Press the bead up between the warp threads. Holding it in place with your finger, pass the needle back through the bead from right to left above the warp.
- Now thread three beads onto the needle and press them up between the warp threads. There should be a thread between each bead.
- Pass the needle through the beads from right to left above all the warp threads. Continue in the same way with different colours and widths!
- Finish your creation by tying a knot on each thread. Pass the needle through the top bead and tie another knot. Do the same thing at the other end. Once everything is locked in place, you can release the pegs on the end of the loom and remove the flat piece of wood.
- Cut the thread loops, braid the threads and finish with a knot.
What makes this product special
Toys for learning through play
Play is essential for children’s learning, well-being, and development. Through play, children learn about themselves and the world around them.
Play helps children:
• stay curious
• focus and become absorbed in what they're doing
• take on age-appropriate challenges
• build confidence
We believe children learn best by doing things for themselves:
• by making mistakes
• by getting messy
• by falling down and getting back up again
Resilience, confidence, and courage grow through experience, one small step at a time.
That's why we carefully choose toys that encourage independence, imagination, movement, and social skills — offering just the right balance of support, freedom, and opportunities to grow.
Carefully selected toys
We carefully handpick every toy from the vast world of toys available today. The only toys that make it into our range are ones we'd be happy to give our own children.
Every toy at ToyAcademy should:
• support learning through play
• be made from durable, high-quality materials
• be safe and enjoyable for children to play with
20 years of experience as parents and professionals

Our mission is clear:
Toys should support children’s development, well-being, and confidence through play.
