This seriously cool handheld microscope lets curious children explore objects up close with up to 50x magnification.
Simply hold Zoomy over whatever you’d like to explore, and the magnified image appears on the screen. Zoomy connects easily to both Mac and PC via USB.
Twist the top and press the little camera button (just like clicking a pen) to capture clear photos or even record videos with Zoomy.
Compact and easy for little hands to hold, Zoomy can capture both photos and video, which can easily be shared via USB on a computer or projector for the whole class to see. Focusing is simple, and Zoomy works at different distances with no tricky setup involved. Just move it closer to or farther from your object to find the perfect distance.
Zoomy makes it easy and exciting to explore the hidden details in things like a little pile of soil, an orange peel, or even the mysterious fluff hiding in your pocket—and share your discoveries with everyone around you. You can also share photos and videos with others via a link.
If your child loves science, Zoomy might just become their new favourite exploration buddy, bringing a whole new microscopic world to life in a fun and wonderfully easy way, with photos and videos you can revisit again and again.
Zoomy requires a quick software installation before you get started. The setup is simple, and instructions are included in the box.
You can also download the software online for Windows or MAC.
Available in green or blue.
Children will need a little help from an adult to learn how the microscope works. Focusing can be a bit tricky at first, so microscopes and telescopes are often best explored together as a shared learning experience.
This activity benefits important skills which are wonderful for your child's well-being and ability to learn new things:
- Wonderful for keeping your child's curiosity alive.
- Improves observation skills.
Suitable for ages 5 yrs. to 7 yrs.
If you want to give your inquisitive kiddo a microscope, remember that price and quality often go hand in hand. So reflect on what your child is hoping to examine with the microscope.
For example, if you would like to study the contents of a drop of blood, we recommend that you get a microscope for children with over 400x magnification. It’s a higher price range, but your child will have amazing "aha” moments when they can focus the microscope and learn about science on their own. But it’s also educational and fun to study a dead spider or a fly up close, and you can easily do that with a simple microscope model.
You’ll find our full range of microscopes here.
