Here, you get to play both. You don’t need two separate setups - with a few easy adjustments, this fun play station can be transformed from a fire station into a police station and back again. 

Flip the POLICE/FIRE STATION sign and the small wooden tags with police/fire department staff. 

You can also turn over the felt play mat to choose between red and blue.

Role play with play furniture allows your child to practise familiar everyday scenarios in the supermarket or the kitchen. Also, other types of play furniture are ideal for preparing your child for new situations such as a café visit or a doctor’s appointment. There are certain ways children are expected to behave in certain environments, and children can only really understand those expectations if they've had a chance to practise and experiment a bit beforehand, for example through play that involves ordering at a café, practising polite phrases, or talking about their symptoms. It’s also ideal if your child is a little bit shy and afraid of strangers.
