With clear and defined rules, card games, board games, and dice games are clear and defined activities which delightfully do not entail negotiation with others. Many children find it a relief to focus on a game with clear rules as a break from free and wild play with their mates at kindergarten or school.
Besides, playing games lets your child practice other important skills as well - such as losing. We recommend that you don't always let your child win when you play a game. Learning how to handle losing in safe surroundings together with you makes your child resilient. After all, you can no longer shield your child from disappointment and defeat later in life when they set out on their own.
The activity helps your child develop new skills and is wonderful for your child's well-being:
