For instance, if a telescope has 27x magnification, it means that something which is 27 metres away from you looks as if it's just 1 metre away when you look through the telescope.
An adult must be present to correctly assemble the telescope and teach your child to adjust the focus.
Remember that price and quality usually go hand in hand when it comes to telescopes. Beginner telescopes can spark your child’s interest in astronomy. The big astronomical eureka moments will probably come with a fancier telescope, which will also be more expensive, with higher magnification and more features.
