PUKY

Balance/Push Bike - PUKYMOTO, Mini

Item No: 44-304X
The vestibular sense
Proprioception
Gross motor skills

With PUKYMOTO, your child can ride independently from as early as 18 months. Remember a bike helmet - little riders pick up speed faster than you'd think!

Special features of the PUKYMOTO:

  • Suitable for children from 1.5 years (83–98 cm)
  • Two rear wheels make it easier to maintain balance
  • Plastic wheels with rubber coating
  • Adjustable for inseams of 28–38 cm
  • Weighs 2.7 kg

PUKYMOTO's parallel dual rear wheels make the bike more stable and less prone to tipping over than a two-wheeled balance bike.

This is a brilliant in-between bike, perfect for the stage when your child can walk confidently on their own and push themselves along on a small scooter or similar ride-on toy, but is not quite ready yet to balance on a two-wheeled balance bike. For many, balance bikes have become a natural step on the journey from not being able to ride a bike at all to confidently riding a pedal bike without training wheels.

The PUKYMOTO encourages your child to sit with proper riding posture, which makes for a more dynamic (and a bit more challenging) ride.

PUKYMOTO is brilliant for both indoor and outdoor use and has quiet rubber wheels that won’t leave marks on the floor.

PUKYMOTO product specifications:

  • Wheels are completely silent – perfect for indoor riding without disturbing the neighbours
  • For children up to 20 kg
  • Adjustable seat
  • Ergonomic seat
  • Safety handles
  • Excellent stability
  • Limited steering angle
  • Choose from several stylish colours.

Suitable for ages 18 mos. to 3 yrs.

A balance bike has no pedals, so your child pushes the bike along with their legs while straddling the bike. Balance bikes are brilliant for developing your child's balance and crossbody coordination from the time they're young.

A balance bike is a great way to challenge your child without them experiencing too many crashes or accidents - because your child always has a foot on the ground and is able to stop the bike and keep their balance. Being able to control their speed much more easily than on a normal bike gives your child a sense of freedom. At the same time, you can also teach your child about left/right, understanding traffic signals, and looking out for other road users.

A great way to prepare for learning to ride a regular bike. Once your child has picked up speed on the balance bike, putting training wheels on their regular bike while they learn how to pedal often becomes a redundant middle step - because your child has already had lots of balance training.

We offer a wide range of balance bikes, so we’ve created a guide to help you choose the best one for your child. You’ll find it on our Smart Through Play blog.

The activity is great for your child's well-being and ability to learn new things:

  • Develops gross motor skills, which are engaged whenever your child is physically active.
  • This is a great way for your child to stimulate their vestibular sense. The vestibular sense helps us to spin in circles, stand on one leg, or ride in a car without getting dizzy, losing our balance, or getting car sick.
  • This is a great way for your child to develop their proprioception, which strengthens their concentration skills and builds up their confidence to use their body in other types of active play.
