Maileg was started in 1999 by Dorthe og Erik Mailil, who set out to design durable toys with lots of soul and personality as a counterbalance plastic toys and throw-away culture. The name Maileg is a mix of the founders' surname and the Danish word for play. Based in Herning, Denmark, Maileg makes toy figures and accessories full of nostalgia and Nordic simplicity.Maileg's elves, mice, and figures are made with calm, immersive play in mind. It's all about creating worlds and immersing yourself in stories with toys whose quality and appearance will last through years of play.
