Maileg was founded in 1999 by Dorthe og Erik Mailil, who set out to make durable toys with lots of soul and personality as a counterbalance to fast trends and throw-away culture. The name Maileg is made up of the founders' surname and the Danish word for play. Based in Herning, Denmark, Maileg designs animal figures, Christmas elves, and accessories that radiate ""hygge"" and Scandinavian design.Maileg's dollhouses, mice, and elves are made with slow, calm play in mind. It's all about creating worlds and immersing yourself in stories with toys whose quality and appearance will last for many years. Your child gets to form a close, heartfelt bond with their toys and the adorable little mice and elves.
Maileg puts a strong focus on high quality in the details, materials and expressions of their toys. Their designs speak to both children and grown-ups.
