Your child can simply play with this toy without first having to figure out how it works. There is no right or wrong way to play, and your child doesn't have to follow any rules. Playing in the present moment is the goal here. We call this type of play intuitive play. It's also referred to as "open ended play". We recommend that you take the opportunity to watch how things unfold when your child plays following their intuition.
As opposed to types of play which are aimed at achieving a particular result, intuitive play will often give you fascinating insight into your child’s own problem-solving skills, thought process, and imagination.
“Sit still and stop rocking the chair” doesn’t apply with motor skills furniture (thankfully).
