Suitable for children aged 2 yrs. to 10 yrs.

This toy has no rules or right or wrong ways to play, and your child can simply play without thinking about how to use it. Playing in the present moment is the goal itself. At ToyAcademy, we call this type of play intuitive play - its also referred to as "open ended play". We recommend that you take the opportunity to observe how things unfold when your child plays using their intuition.

Unlike types of play which focus on achieving a particular result, intuitive play will most often give you an interesting look into your child’s own problem-solving skills, thought process, and imagination.

Motor skills furniture is almost the exact opposite of sitting still and staying calm. Rocking and rolling can actually help children with motor restlessness keep calm. When your child's proprioception and vestibular sense get more of the input they require to function at their best, your child has an easier time being calm. This means that, when your child gets the sensory stimuli they need, their body is able to relax and function better.

Motor skills furniture bought at ToyAcademy is tough and will withstand years of active play.

The activity helps your child develop new skills and is wonderful for your child's well-being:

  • Supports your child's vestibular sense, which strengthens concentration, balance, and learning ability.
  • Develops your child's proprioception, which helps them build the confidence to use their body through active play and benefits their concentration.
