Suitable for ages 2 yrs. to 7 yrs.Play food is ideal for imaginative play, which inspires your child to copy real-life situations such as cooking, shopping, or visiting a café. Have conversations about what happens to food inside the body, where our food comes from, and when we usually eat it. This helps to develop your child’s knowledge and vocabulary.
Role play where children copy everyday activities develops their understanding of the world they live in. With play food, your child can also play and be silly with food in a way that is most likely not allowed at mealtime with real food. You can also use the play food to play grocery store and practise writing little signs, coming up with prices and special offers, and practising polite phrases. Your child can take payment at the cash register and give back change, which improves their math skills.
This activity stimulates essential skills which help support your child's well-being and ability to learn:
