Through role playing, your child can gain experience with boundaries, rules, and opportunities for social interaction and identity formation. When the children play with play food together, they practise how to work together, communicate, compromise, and take turns. You can also use the play food to play grocery store and practise writing little signs, coming up with prices and special offers, and practising polite phrases. Your child can take payment at the cash register and give back change, which improves their math skills.
