Playing with hand puppets lets your child practise understanding and telling a story with a beginning and an end. This is a useful skill which can be improved by talking about a story while you're telling it, and telling it over and over.
When children are learning to understand stories, physical props can be very useful. Hand puppets let children experiment with telling stories. In addition, they're a super good way to bring storytelling to life. The reader telling the story does not get hidden away behind a book but gets to be in active contact with the little listeners, who get to join in the story instead of being passive.
Hand puppets are great to use together at home and in nurseries and kindergartens – or for people with special needs or dementia.
