Suitable for ages 18 mos. to 5 yrs.Playing with hand puppets lets your child practise telling and understanding a story with a beginning and an end. This is a useful skill which can be practised by talking about a story while you're telling it, and telling it over and over.
When children are learning to understand stories, physical props are a great help. Hand puppets let children play with storytelling. In addition, they're a very nice way to make a story or fairy tale come alive. The reader telling the story does not get hidden away behind a book but gets to be active and in close contact with the little listeners, who get to be actively participating children instead of passive children.
Hand puppets are great to use at home with your child and in nurseries and preschools – or for people with dementia or special needs.
