Animal figures are a bit of a classic of the toy chest. You'll probably see your child use them for all kinds of imaginative and fun role play. Maybe the animals live in the wild or in a national park – or maybe they go to the supermarket. Roleplay stimulates the ability to make up funny stories and put words to them.

Or maybe the animals enjoy being stacked, sorted, counted, or arranged according to their initials or the number of letters or syllables in their names. The animals are also ideal if your child is practising math and needs to work out how many animals you each get if you are three people and divide them between you.
