Drawing and having fun simply helps your child gain control of the pencil, which is very helpful for schoolwork. And it's so lovely to receive a little handwritten note from your child that says "lofe u" - and equally surprising and amusing to come across the first note stuck to the door of your child’s room that says "no parints aloud". Down the line, a secure grasp and a trained writing hand are useful for making handwritten Christmas and birthday cards.
