Drawing, painting, and writing strengthen your child's grasp and fine motor skills, which are necessary skills for learning to write legible numbers and letters.
Drawing and having fun simply helps your child gain better control of the pencil, which is very helpful for schoolwork. And it's so lovely to receive a little handwritten letter from your child that says "lof yu" - and equally surprising and amusing to come across the first note stuck to the door of your child’s room that says "no grone ups aloud". Later on, it’s time for slightly more complicated writing projects such as handwritten birthday and Christmas cards – made possible by a secure grasp and a trained writing hand.
