Construction play is fun, a bit time consuming, and very educational. We won't burden you with a long-winded dissertation on how this type of play develops your child's hand-eye coordination, creativity, and fine motor skills as well as interest in entrepreneurship and understanding of geometry.

Also, it's just so satisfying to construct a tall, tall tower or build the world's longest marble run, or to create an impressive domino track and film it when it topples.

Do you know Magna-Tiles?

Magna-Tiles are lovely magnetic building toys that challenge and motivate your child to explore how different geometric shapes can be used to build both very small and quite large structures (look at a bridge or a football - both consist of triangles and squares in a neat pattern). Magna-Tiles are magnetic on all sides, so they easily stick to each other via magnetism. They come in many colours, shapes, and themes, so whether your child likes animals or mirror mazes, Magna-Tiles are a great idea.

Magna-Tiles are produced from ABS plastic, which is very robust. Magna-Tiles are polarised so that the tiles do not repel each other and can be put together on all sides, just like Magformers and Connetix. Magna-Tiles can be combined with Connetix, but not with Magformers.

The magnetic tiles can be cleaned with a damp cloth. They should not be submerged in water or put in the dishwasher or washing machine. If they do get wet, you can save them by setting them upright to dry so the water can drain out.
