Constructing and building is fun, a bit time consuming, and very educational. We could very easily write a whole book about how building and construction play develops your child's hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and creativity as well as interest in entrepreneurship and understanding of geometry.
With this type of play, your child also gets real-life experience with problem-solving as they figure out how to set up the construction so it doesn't collapse. Your child's construction play with all sorts of building blocks, pieces, or magnets develops their imagination and patience. Also, it's so satisfying to build the longest marble run ever or construct a skyscraper higher than yourself, or to maybe make a super cool row of dominoes and film it as it topples.

Do you know Magna-Tiles?
Magna-Tiles are lovely magnetic building toys that challenge and encourage kids to explore how different geometric shapes can be used to build both very small and quite large structures (look at a bridge or a football - both consist of triangles and squares in a neat pattern). Magna-Tiles are magnetic on all sides and edges, so they easily stick to each other due to their magnetic properties. They come in many colours, shapes, and themes, so whether your child likes animals or mirror mazes, Magna-Tiles are a great idea.The magnetic poles of Magna-Tiles are arranged so that the tiles attract each other no matter which way they're turned. The tiles are produced from ABS plastic, which is very durable. They do not fit with Magformers, but they work with Connetix.
They can be cleaned with a damp, well wrung out cloth - no sticking them in the sink with the dishes or giving them a spin in the dishwasher. If they get wet, we recommend that you let them dry standing upright so the water can drain.
