Maileg was created in 1999 by Erik og Dorthe Mailil, who set out to design toys with soul, personality, and high durability as a counterbalance plastic toys and fast trends. The name Maileg is made up of the founders' surname and the Danish word for play. Based in Herning, Denmark, Maileg creates Christmas elves, dollhouses, and toys full of Nordic simplicity and ""hygge"".Maileg's elves, mice, and figures are made with immersive, calm play in mind. It's all about imagining worlds and telling stories with toys whose appearance and quality will last for years. Your child gets to form a heartfelt and close bond with their toys and the charming little mice and elves.
Maileg puts a strong focus on high quality in the materials and details of their toys. Their designs speak to both children and grown-ups. Not all Maileg products are meant to be played with - some of the elves, mice, and other figurines are purely decorative. But the Maileg universe is so great at sparking the imaginations of children and other playful souls that we're happy to offer even the more delicate, display-only pieces to our customers regardless.
