Maileg was created in 1999 by Dorthe og Erik Mailil, who set out to make toys with soul, personality, and high durability as a counterbalance to fast trends and throw-away culture. The name Maileg is a mix of the founders' surname and the Danish word for play. Based in Herning, Denmark, Maileg designs toy figures and accessories that radiate ""hygge"" and Scandinavian design.Maileg's mice, elves, animal figures, and accessories are made with calm, immersive play in mind. It's all about imagining worlds and immersing yourself in stories with toys whose quality and appearance will last for many years. Your child gets to form a heartfelt and close bond with their toys and the cute little mice and elves.
Maileg puts a strong focus on high quality in the details and materials of their toys. Their designs speak to both young and old playful souls. Not all Maileg products are made to be played with - some of the elves, mice, and other figurines are purely decorative. But the Maileg universe is so great at sparking kids' imaginations that we're happy to offer even the more delicate decorations to our customers regardless.
