Maileg was founded in 1999 by Erik og Dorthe Mailil, who set out to design durable toys with lots of soul and personality as a counterbalance to fast trends and throw-away culture. The name Maileg is made up of the founders' surname and the Danish word for play. Based in Herning, Denmark, Maileg creates animal figures, Christmas elves, and accessories that radiate Nordic simplicity and ""hygge"".Maileg's elves, mice, and figures are made with immersive, calm play in mind. It's all about imagining worlds and immersing yourself in stories with toys whose appearance and quality will last through years of play. Your child gets to form a heartfelt and close bond with their toys and the cute little mice and elves.
