A monster friend invites acceptance into your child's world. Monsters are different and are often portrayed as dangerous in stories and fairy tales. We often respond with suspicion or fear when something is outside the norm.

Monsters have an important place in your child's play, because they expand your child’s idea of what a friend can look like. Moreover, monster play is popular with children of any gender, which opens up a world of shared play across other interests such as trucks, princesses, or swords. And monsters let your child's imagination run wild - because it's completely up to your child to decide what their monster looks like and whether it has eyes on its knees, antennas, five arms, or three ears. Monsters don’t have to look "perfect" (in a normative sense), and your child will proudly present their new monster friend, who, fortunately, is anything but normal.

We carry playdough of several different types and colours and different firmness levels. Firmer playdough stimulates your child’s proprioception because it offers more resistance when played with. For instance, firm playdough is perfect for making stop motion movies, because it holds its shape well.

It’s a quiet activity that can help your child sit still for just five more minutes - or help them deal with long car or train rides without restlessly wiggling about in their seat. Particularly, for children who experience motor restlessness, fiddling with something that activates fine motor skills, hands, imagination, and proprioception while sitting still can create a sense of calm.

Oil-based playdough remains soft for several years. You can soften water-based playdough by adding in a bit of water.
