Suitable for children aged 1 yr. to 4 yrs.Pulling, squishing, squeezing, and stretching with your hands magically improves your child’s concentration, even though it is in fact a type of distraction. For example, when your child needs to sit down and pay attention to a story, it’s great to knead and fiddle with various types of clay, playdough, or sensory slime while listening.

This activity is quiet and can help your child be still for just five more minutes - or help them deal with long train or car rides without restlessly wiggling about in their seat. In particular, for children with a lot of motor restlessness, fiddling with something that engages fine motor skills, hands, imagination, and proprioception while sitting still can help them calm down.
Oil-based playdough tends to remain soft for years. You can soften water-based playdough by adding in a bit of water.
