Writing, painting, and drawing strengthen your child's pencil grasp and fine motor skills, which are both essential skills for learning to write letters and numbers legibly.
Drawing and having fun simply helps your child learn how to control the pencil, which is a big advantage for schoolwork. And it's absolutely lovely to get a little handwritten letter from your child that says "lofe yoo" - and equally surprising and amusing to come across the first note stuck to the door of your child’s room that says "no parints aloud". Later on, it’s time for slightly more complicated writing projects such as handwritten Christmas and birthday cards – all made possible by a good grasp and a steady handwriting.
