Suitable for ages 3 yrs. to 11 yrs.Building and constructing is educational, fun, and also time consuming. We could certainly write a long book about how building and construction play strengthens your child's fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and creativity as well as their understanding of geometry and interest in entrepreneurship.
With construction play, your child also gets real hands-on experience with solving problems as they figure out how to put together the construction so it doesn't collapse. Your child's construction play with all sorts of magnets, building blocks, or pieces stimulates their imagination. Also, it's so satisfying to construct a tall, tall tower or build the world's longest marble run, or to maybe make an amazing domino field and film it as it topples.

Do you know KAPLA?
Kapla designs building blocks made of pine that are very easy to balance and stack. At the same time, they are very stable and durable. Kapla blocks can be used to build surprisingly large structures. On social media, you can see huge, patience-demanding constructions of large spiral staircases or the Eiffel Tower, made only with Kapla wooden blocks.Your child gets hands-on experience with cause and effect and how to cope with defeat (or at least try to), if their awesome structure collapses along the way. It's such a bummer, but it also motivates your child to come up with solutions. Perhaps the structure needs to be tighter - or maybe it needs to be built on the dining table instead of the floor, away from wagging dog tails.
