Play Food - Charcuterie Basket, 7 pcs
Planning a festive feast or a fancy gathering? This charcuterie basket of tasty butcher’s favourites is perfect for your child’s pretend deli to serve its most distinguished guests.
With 7 different treats to choose from, there’s plenty to keep even the hungriest guests happy.
A slice of ham and egg pie, black pudding, a rasher of bacon, a string of butchers sausages, a large salami, a Spanish chorizo style sausage, and a ham hock.
Perfect for role play, where your child can copy everyday situations like grocery shopping, cooking, or running a little café. It’s a great way to expand your child's knowledge and vocabulary by chatting about where food comes from, when we usually eat it, and where it goes after we swallow it.
When children act out everyday activities through role play, they build a better understanding of the world around them. With play food and play kitchens, your child can explore food in ways that might not be allowed with real ingredients or at the dinner table. Through play, children experiment with rules, boundaries, social interaction, and their own sense of identity.
You can also take play a step further by setting up a little shop, maybe with small signs and prices. It’s a fun way to explore numbers and letters together and encourage your child to practise good manners and simple math.
About Tender Leaf Toys:Â
Made from rubberwood left over from latex production in Indonesian forests.
The toys are produced at a family-owned factory in Indonesia, where the Tender Leaf Toys team spends two months each year developing toys and working alongside local villagers.
For every tree felled, a new one is planted. Tender Leaf Toys has been recognised by the ICTI Ethical Toy Program for their efforts to make the entire production process more socially and environmentally sustainable.
The toys are hand-painted and manually packed in recycled cardboard, and Tender Leaf Toys has almost managed to completely eliminate the use of single-use plastic.

Toys for learning through play
Play is essential for children’s learning, well-being, and development. Through play, children learn about themselves and the world around them.
Play helps children:
• stay curious
• focus and become absorbed in what they're doing
• take on age-appropriate challenges
• build confidence
We believe children learn best by doing things for themselves:
• by making mistakes
• by getting messy
• by falling down and getting back up again
Resilience, confidence, and courage grow through experience, one small step at a time.
That's why we carefully choose toys that encourage independence, imagination, movement, and social skills — offering just the right balance of support, freedom, and opportunities to grow.
Carefully selected toys
We carefully handpick every toy from the vast world of toys available today. The only toys that make it into our range are ones we'd be happy to give our own children.
Every toy at ToyAcademy should:
• support learning through play
• be made from durable, high-quality materials
• be safe and enjoyable for children to play with

Measures 15,5 x 15,5 x 5,5 cm.Suitable for ages 3 yrs. to 6 yrs.
Have conversations about what happens to food inside the body, where our food comes from, and when we usually eat it. This is great for your child’s knowledge and vocabulary. Play food is fantastic for pretend play, which inspires your child to act out real-life scenarios such as shopping, cooking, or being in a café.
Through pretend play, your child can gain experience with boundaries, rules, and opportunities for identity formation and social interaction. When multiple children play with play food together, they learn how to work together, communicate, compromise, and take turns. You can also use the play food to play grocery store and practise writing little signs, coming up with prices and special offers, and practising polite phrases. Your child can take payment at the cash register and give back change, which is a great way of practisting their math skills.
Supports important skills that are great for your child's well-being and ability to learn:
- Helps your child unleash their imagination.
- Excellent for role play, where little ones practise finding their own place in the game and not always being in charge. This develops your child's social skills.
- Strengthens social skills, which, according to childcare professionals and educators, are more important for students to practise than learning grammar and math.
