Polydron Giant Set - Dinosaur, 130 pcs

Giant Polydrons are construction shapes that stimulate your child's senses. Have you heard of Plus-Plus building pieces? Polydron is like a supersized version.
The shapes inspire children to create 2D and 3D geometric models.

Giant Polydrons are compatible with Polydron XL, so if you already have some Polydron XL pieces at home, you can put the two types together. 

The pieces help children develop an understanding of textures and shapes, and they are brilliant for early-years construction play and learning, both at home, at preschool, at the restaurant, on trips, etc.

The Giant Polydron pieces have bumps on one side, so your child can recognise the shapes by feeling them - great for developing their tactile sense. 

The insides of the Giant Polydron shapes have (English) braille patterns. This gives children another tactile way of exploring and recognising the shapes and offers an extra sensory experience.The very large shapes are super easy to put together and are the perfect size for little hands. These construction shapes are simply must-haves in daycares, preschools, play places, and waiting areas. They are also great for special education settings.

Once the pieces have been put together, the constructions are quite sturdy. So you can leave your project overnight and come back to it the next day. Unless it’s super windy, your outdoor creations will usually stand strong overnight.

The plastic is lightweight, so it won't hurt if a piece falls on your head. However, the pieces aren’t too light - the wind won't carry off your creation on a breezy day at the playground. This set includes 130 pieces that can be joined together to create colourful dinosaurs.

To clean, wipe down your Giant Polydrons with a damp cloth and a bit of mild soap. You can also disinfect the tiles with rubbing alcohol.

You can absolutely let the kids play with Giant Polydrons outdoors. The pieces are made of HDPE plastic, which is UV-resistant and resistant to cold and moisture. HDPE is also used to make recyclable bottles. Polydron recommends that you keep your Giant Polydron pieces out of direct sunlight - but you can definitely leave them outside in the shade. Made from 100% recycled plastic.

The activity supports skill development and is wonderful for your child's well-being:

• Stimulates your child's perception of colours/shapes.
• Develops hand-eye coordination, which is used for example when we cut a straight line with scissors, when we want to pour water into a glass without missing, or when we kick or catch the ball that comes flying at us in PE class.

Building and construction play is very educational, very fun, and a bit time consuming. We won't get into a long essay about how this type of play strengthens your child's hand-eye coordination, creativity, and fine motor skills as well as understanding of geometry and interest in entrepreneurship.

With this type of play, your child also gets real-life experience with solving problems when they need to figure out how to set up the construction so it doesn't suddenly fall over. Your child's construction play with all sorts of building materials makes it fun for them to concentrate. Also, it's just so cool and satisfying to build the longest marble run ever or construct a skyscraper higher than yourself, or to maybe create an impressive row of dominoes and film it as it topples.
