The Giant Polydron pieces have bumps on one side, so your child can recognise the shapes by feeling them - great for developing their tactile sense.Â
The insides of the Giant Polydron shapes have (English) braille patterns. This gives children another tactile way of exploring and recognising the shapes and offers an extra sensory experience.The very large shapes are super easy to put together and are the perfect size for little hands. These construction shapes are simply must-haves in daycares, preschools, play places, and waiting areas. They are also great for special education settings.
Once the pieces have been put together, the constructions are quite sturdy. So you can leave your project overnight and come back to it the next day. Unless it’s super windy, your outdoor creations will usually stand strong overnight.
The plastic is lightweight, so it won't hurt if a piece falls on your head. However, the pieces aren’t too light - the wind won't carry off your creation on a breezy day at the playground. This set includes 60 pieces: 30 squares and 30 triangles.
To clean your Giant Polydron shapes, wipe them with a damp cloth and a bit of mild soap. You can also disinfect them with rubbing alcohol.
You can absolutely let the kids play with Giant Polydrons outdoors. The pieces are made of HDPE plastic, which is UV-resistant and resistant to cold and moisture. HDPE is also used to make recyclable bottles. Polydron recommends keeping your Giant Polydron shapes out of direct sunlight, but they are perfectly fine for outdoor play in the shade.

Building and construction play is educational, fun, and also time consuming. We'll leave out a long-winded dissertation on how this type of play benefits your child's hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as well as their understanding of geometry and interest in entrepreneurship.
With this type of play, your child also gets real hands-on experience with problem-solving when it comes to figuring out how to set up the construction so it doesn't fall over. Your child's construction play with all sorts of pieces, blocks, and other building materials stimulates their imagination. Also, it's just so satisfying to build the longest marble run ever or construct a skyscraper higher than yourself, or to maybe create an impressive row of dominoes and film it as it topples.
