Writing, drawing, and painting strengthen your child's fine motor skills and grasp, which are essential for learning to write letters and numbers legibly.
Drawing and doodling simply helps your child gain control of the pencil, which is very helpful at school. And it's so lovely to get a little handwritten note from your child that says "lof yu" - and equally surprising and amusing to see the first piece of paper stuck to the door of your child’s room that says "groanups keep out". Later on, it’s time for more challenging writing projects such as handwritten Christmas and birthday cards – made possible by a good grasp and a steady handwriting.
