What makes this product special

A charming 2-in-1 toy that combines a puzzle and a balancing game in a classic Djeco design.

The wobbly rainbow turns stacking the animals into a fun test of skill and control.

When it’s time to tidy up, your child can enjoy placing the pieces back into the puzzle frame.

Measures 21 x 21 x 2,5 cm.
Suitable for children aged 18 mos. to 3 yrs.

Doing puzzles develops your child's patience and fine motor skills. Also, putting the pieces in place is a fun way to get better at understanding how separate parts form a whole and envisioning where each part belongs in the big picture.

The ability to register something visually (using our eyes) and envision a whole (and what parts are missing) is important when it comes to learning geometry and math as well as comprehending how sentences, sums, or a piece of knitting, among other things, are made up of sequences and patterns.

Often, a puzzle has a special topic or theme, which you can talk about while you're doing it. This is a great way to talk about anything from jungle animals to astronomy, flags of the world, or telling time and expand your child's vocabulary.

When children play by stacking blocks or other small objects on top of each other, which they start doing at a very young age, they simultaneously learn about proportions, physics, balance, and gravity. At first, it’s mostly about getting the blocks to fall. But later on, your child's motor skills become better, and they learn to stack 3, 5, or 10 blocks or experiment with stacking toy animals or other things. If you choose stacking blocks with numbers, your child can practise numbers and sequences while playing.

The activity is great for your child's well-being and ability to learn new things:

  • Helps your child strengthen fine motor skills.
  • Stimulates hand-eye coordination, a skill we use e.g. when catching or kicking a ball that comes flying towards us in PE class, or when cutting precisely with a pair of scissors.
  • Supports your child's sense of cause and effect, which is about the awareness that something (the cause) leads to something else (the effect).
