Gross motor skills

The Highwaykick 1 is a unique 2-in-1 scooter and balance bike, and the perfect companion for children aged 1 to 5.

Your child steers the Highwaykick by shifting their body weight rather than turning the handlebars (which actually don’t turn at all). That means balance training happens naturally as your child learns to control their centre of gravity by leaning their body from side to side. The quality and design are truly top-notch, with a clear focus on safety, stability, and an ergonomically sound design. That means your child can move around safely and comfortably from around 1 year old. Among other things, the Highwaykick 1 features a patented safety pad that adds extra protection for your child as it helps prevent forward tipping and nose-first tumbles. What’s more, the Highwaykick 1 has an extra-wide seat that provides great stability for your child in balance bike mode. But what really makes the Highwaykick 1 stand out is the option to use it both as a balance bike AND as a scooter. That means extra-long playtime — your child can enjoy their Highwaykick 1 from around 1 year old and all the way up to about 5 years, growing and zooming along every step of the way. It also means you don’t have to invest in several different ride-ons that take up loads of space in the garage or shed. With all of this in mind, the Highwaykick 1 is the perfect solution for families with young kids. Converting from balance bike to scooter - and back again - takes just a few seconds and requires no tools. What’s more, both the seat and handlebar height are of course adjustable, giving your child the best possible riding experience at all times, whether they’re cruising in scooter mode or rolling along on the balance bike. With a Highwaykick 1, you’re giving your child a fantastic way to build balance and motor skills, with plenty of laughs, giggles, and thrills along the way. Both the balance bike and the scooter give your child a great all-round workout, strengthening their leg and back muscles while boosting coordination, balance, and proprioception. At the same time, your child starts learning valuable real-world skills like navigating traffic, judging distances, and adjusting their speed — all through play, of course. The Highwaykick 1 really is a pretty amazing all-in-one package.

The Highwaykick 1 has a rear brake that your child can use on their own. As a clever extra, there’s also a front brake for you, so you can help your child slow down when needed.
