Sensory Light-Up Water Jar - Green

Item No: 1279-GPJARGRE
Vision
Immersion and relaxation
Curiosity

Beautiful sensory jars that your child (or you) can fill with tap water and glitter, pom poms, sequins, “diamonds”, or other lovely things.

The lid is designed so that you have to press on both sides at the same time while twisting it. This makes the jar quite spill-proof for curious little fingers.

  • Start by inserting the batteries: Grab a screwdriver, unscrew the bottom and insert 3 AAA batteries (not included). Then thread the bottom back on.
  • Now fill the jar with tap water - not mineral water or other liquids. The ions in tap water are important to activate the jar's light.
  • Add pom poms, beads, sequins, glitter, or other things from your craft drawer (that are water-safe) to the water.
  • Be careful not to use too much glitter, as it can cover the sensors and turn off the light.
  • The sensory bottle will cycle through 9 different colours. If you tap the side, it will switch to a new colour.
  • Turn the bottle upside down to switch it off, and store it with the lid facing down.

Cleaning
Use a coffee filter when you want to empty and clean the bottle. That way, you can reuse the decorative pieces multiple times. The manufacturer recommends cleaning the bottle with warm soapy water once a day.

What can I put in the sensory play jar?
Most objects that are water-safe, fit in size, and don’t dissolve can go into the jar.

How long does the light in the sensory jar last?
The sensory jar will light up as long as the batteries have power. So it depends on the quality of the batteries. When the light runs out, insert new batteries and it's ready to go again.

Turn off the sensory jar by flipping it upside down. If there is at least 3.5-4 cm of space at the top, the light will turn off.

Measures approximately 15 x 11.5 x 18.5 cm.
Please note that the opening is smaller than the circumference of the jar.

Suitable for ages 18 mos. to 7 yrs.

This toy doesn't have any rulebook or right or wrong ways to play, and your child can simply play without thinking about how to use it. Playing in the present moment is the goal here. We call this type of play intuitive play - its also referred to as "open ended play". Let your child play by using their intuition and take the opportunity to notice what happens.

Unlike types of play which are about achieving a particular result, intuitive play will often give you an interesting look into your child’s own thought process, imagination, and problem-solving skills.

Supports the development of important skills that really benefit your child's well-being and ability to learn new things:

  • Gives your child a lovely break and a calm moment in an otherwise hectic day.
  • Ideal for curious Georges.
