Suitable for ages 3 yrs. to 6 yrs.
When playing with play furniture, your child can repeat familiar everyday scenarios in the supermarket or the kitchen. Also, other types of play furniture are excellent for getting your child ready for new situations such as a café visit or a doctor’s appointment. Children are expected to behave in certain ways in different environments, and children can only really understand those expectations if they've had a chance to practise and experiment a bit in advance, for example through play that involves ordering at a café, practising polite phrases, or talking about their symptoms. This type of play is also perfect if your child is a little shy around strangers.
The activity is wonderful for your child's well-being and ability to learn:
- Helps your child unleash their imagination.
- In role play, your child imitates us adults and experiments with everyday situations or their own universe.
- Strengthens social skills, which, according to childcare professionals and educators, are more important for students to practise than memorising letters and numbers.
