With clear and defined rules, dice games, board games, and card games are clearly defined activities which delightfully do not entail negotiation with others. For many children, it can be a real relief to focus on a game with clear rules as a change from wild, free play with their friends at school or kindergarten.
Besides, playing games lets your child practice other important skills as well - such as losing. We recommend that you don't always let your child win when you play a game. Learning how to handle defeat in safe surroundings with you makes your child resilient.
